Anna Maria Facco was born in San Giorgio in Bosco, Padova, Italy on April 7th,1945, the daughter of Angela and Pietro Facco. From her youth, Anna was very independent and during her adolescence she developed a strong sense of responsibility and an adventurous attitude toward business that continued to show during her future years. At the age of fifteen, she decided to move to Milano, Italy and start to work to pay for her area of study. Her love and care for animals brought her to buy a pet shop and later a Vet Clinic in downtown Milano, Italy. Her innate spirit and wonderful attributes of a good, passionate and caring person were so appreciated that she became a very special person for a lot of her friends who considered her definitely a “ people person” with a lot of charisma. She always showed others love, care, respect and integrity. At the age of 25 Anna was managing a very good business with different Vet Clinics and shops in the Lombardia region.
Angelo ,Anna’s future husband ,at that time was a revolutionary student who wanted to change the world in the name of “Love and Peace.” He was studying Veterinary Medicine at the University of ‘la Statale” of Milan ,Italy and practiced at Anna’s clinic in Viale Tunisia, Milan, Italy. A nice coincidence of mutual friends made Anna and Angelo date and eventually fall in love with each other. After Angelo’s University graduation , Anna and her Angelo decided to pack and leave Italy to start a new adventure at Mahe’ in the Seychelles Island. They took a one year sabbatical , running a sailing boat charter service for the year and then decided to move on.
And did they ever move …Over the next part of their lives, the couple worked all over the world , starting in a resort of Angelo’s father in Kenya and ending up in South Africa, Hong Kong , Singapore (where they got married and started the Angelo and Anna Moneta Caglio family),Australia, New Zealand and finally in Miami, Florida, USA. Anna and Angelo were like partners, friends, lovers, but especially they were a good, caring, loving and respecting husband and wife. Anna was a wonderful support and Angelo appreciated all her wonderful attributes. She made him an easy guy to satisfy.
In 1996 , Anna and Angelo decided to look for a place in the Rocky Mountains in Colorado,USA, and after various attempts and searches , the Moneta Caglios found their peace in Lake City, Colorado, where they built the wonderful A&A Ranch In 2001 Anna moved from Miami, Florida to Lake City, Colorado to take care of the A&A Ranch . A year after Angelo followed his soul mate. They were both entrepreneurs and in few years they built the A&A Restaurants in Lake City which became a very popular destination for various friends and tourists.
In 2006, during one of her trips to Italy, Anna felt sick and was diagnosed with Acute Leukemia. She went into a coma for three weeks and after six months of an encouraging and admirable fight against the cancer, Anna passed away with a message of love to Angelo,”I will see you again “. Anna died on May 14th,2007 at 1:15 am at the San Gerardo Hospital in Monza, Milan, Italy. It is with immense sadness that we and Angelo mourn the passing of Anna Maria Facco, co-founder and beloved co-owner of the A&A Restaurants, The A&A Ranch , The A&A Ranch and Lodge Properties and the International Business Solutions/IBSS.
Like the exquisite flowers she had in her house, Anna built her life surrounded by dear friends . She was a genuine force of nature , a wise, wonderful, awe-inspiring wife to Angelo and an example to all of her friends of the love, care and respect that made her the essence of what is a true lady. She will stay in our hearts as a symbol of generosity and friendship where giving never expected a return. She was passionate, awesome, fragile , intelligent, smart and very well educated. She could speak with anyone on different subjects and issues without being embarrassed or lacking knowledge. She was a first Lady who could carry out different responsibilities and tasks simultaneously and effortlessly. Some of her friends say: America has lost a wonderful Italian first Lady. She will be greatly missed by her husband Angelo and all of her friends.
In honor of Anna Maria Facco , her loving husband, Angelo has established the AMF Foundation with the vision and mission to create and give to future generations of children the, Love, Care, Respect and Integrity that Anna always kept as the center of her life.
